‘You are what you eat’… At the Wellness Cafeteria we encourage our clients to see and feel food in its natural state, remaking the connection of what food looks like in its original form.
When making our healthy lunches like vegetable soup, we utilise glass cooking utensils to visualise the cooking process. Users can now see how food is transformed to something that is enjoyable to eat. Eating food, is meant to be pleasurable experience that is also a vital component in refuelling our body.
Good nutrition is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle, even more so when we engage in physical activity. Our non-profit Wellness Cafeteria, provides practical support and information about nutrition. There are also healthy foods available, including our delicious smoothies.
Free Health Smoothies
Adults who have complex care needs are unlikely to consume any fruits or vegetables. Consuming a balanced smoothie is an effective way of obtaining their daily requirements of fruits and vegetables.
As part of the programme we introduce different fruits and vegetables, not forgetting oats, to the clients allowing them to select different combinations of smoothies to suit. We never forget that eating the whole fruit engages all your senses, the best way to enjoy eating!
An integral part of the programme is the social interaction and what better environment to facilitate this than a place where you can relax and enjoy health refreshment. In between participating in the sports on offer we encourage clients to relax, take some refreshment and have a chat with someone.
For those who would rather sit it out the Wellness Cafeteria is a great place to read, play a board game or make conversation with someone new. Remember it is good to talk or just sit and enjoy the ambience!
